Red light & speed camera contracts Washington
Washington State Cities with Red Light / Speed cameras & their contracts with camera vendors
Below are copies of contracts and other documents from the cities in Washington that contract with camera vendors. We have obtained copies via public records requests. If you have any documents that you would like to contribute to this list please email us at: BanCams@gmail.com
The two camera vendors in Washington are American Traffic Solutions (ATS), an Arizona company, and Redflex, an Australian company (commonly misreported as an Arizona company because they have an office in Arizona). Currently there are no county or state contracts for camera based traffic enforcement in Washington state. So far this cancer (red light/speed cameras) has been contained to the cities listed below.
The law states that Red Light Cameras (RLC) are limited to intersections where 2 main arterials meet. Speed Cameras are limited to school zones, but the legislature has already granted 2 exceptions to that law and allowed Seattle and Tacoma to place speed cameras in non-school zones.
